Mack Lobell set a track record in winning the $496,840 Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Trot at Pompano Park in Pompano Beach, Fla.
With John Campbell driving, Mack Lobell took the lead at the three-eighths mark and staved off a late charge by Buckfinder to win by a length. The time of 1:59 1/5 took three-fifths of a second off the track record set last week by Sirax Taurus in a qualifying race for the Breeders Crown.
Mack Lobell, the favorite, paid $3.80 to win.
