A tractor-trailer carrying four prototype Renault Medallion automobiles was stolen from a Mission Valley motel parking lot. The overnight theft was discovered early Saturday.
San Diego police said the four handmade cars were in the city for a filming session. No value was placed on the two sedans and two station wagons. The auto-carrier rig, which carried Michigan license plates, was parked at the Circle 7-11 Motel in the 2200 block of Hotel Circle South. Police said the theft was discovered about 5 a.m. when the driver came out to warm up the engine.
The 45-foot auto carrier was described as white with a “Diversified” sign and a dark blue cab with gold “DST” initials.
