Tony Pena of the Pittsburgh Pirates drove in three runs with a home run and a double as a team of U.S. all-stars beat a Japanese all-star squad, 9-4, at Tokyo to wind up their tour with a 6-1 record.
Jesse Barfield of the Toronto Blue Jays hit a two-run homer and Glenn Davis of the Houston Astros hit a solo shot before a crowd of 36,000 at Korakuen Stadium. The Americans hit 19 home runs in the series, four each by Barfield and Von Hayes of the Philadelphia Phillies.
