“Take Charge!” McGraw-Hill. $24.95. Subtitled “How to Become Your Own Therapist” (a questionable idea for a start), this 61-minute tape at least had a chance to present well-established self-help methods. Indeed, an inserted 22-page booklet, “Tips for Feeling and Being Tops,” does just that. But print has it over video here: This “emotional fitness program” is almost depressing to watch. Aggressive psychiatrist Harold H. Bloomfield and counselor Sirah Vettese, Ph.D., come across like psychological evangelists--playing to a studio audience and pulling people out of it for embarrassing encounters. They keep saying, “Take Charge!” You want to tell them, “Take Off!” Information: (800) 624-7311. 1/2
