Pepperdine Beats Alberta, 82-69
The University of Alberta didn’t show much in an exhibition basketball game against Pepperdine Thursday night, so the Waves got to show off a little, defeating the Canadian team, 82-69, at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
Pepperdine Coach Jim Harrick was able to look at all but one of his players--junior guard Marty Wilson, who sat out the game with a back injury.
Senior forward Eric White, one of two returning Pepperdine starters, led the Waves in scoring with 18 points, and teammate Dexter Howard, a redshirt freshman forward, had 17.
Alberta forward Mike Suderman led both teams with 22 points.
