Former major leaguer Jay Johnstone filed suit...
Former major leaguer Jay Johnstone filed suit against the New York Yankees, claiming the club broke an agreement to employ him as an announcer.
Johnstone, a former Dodger, said in a federal lawsuit that he entered into an oral agreement with the Yankees last October for a salary of $125,000 and alleges that the contract was broken on Feb. 15.
Because of the agreement, Johnstone said he sought no other employment.
Johnstone, 41, now living in Pasadena, seeks his salary plus an additional 10% in damages.
