A Nevada state court judge granted a writ allowing a Texas promoter to attach $495,000 of heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick’s purse from his title defense Saturday night at Las Vegas against Mike Tyson.
But Judge Dell Guy also ordered promoter Thomas Prendergast to put up a bond covering the same amount and said he would set a full hearing later on the matter to see if the money is actually owed.
