Says Guide Misleads

The book “California Retirement Guide,” unfortunately, was mentioned briefly in the “Bookshelf” column (Aug. 24). The writers of this book have put out voluminous ads with The Times “endorsement” so I, like many others, assumed you gave the book your blessings and approval.
The book is misleading, lacking in important facts and with too little validity to be of much use.
Here’s hoping I can still save some unsuspecting souls from both buying the book and more important, moving bag and baggage to one of the authors’ “Godforsaken places.”
