La Habra : Children’s Ideas Sought on Museum Expansion

Share

The Children’s Museum is seeking young designers to enter a contest and to give some ideas on how the museum should be expanded.

The event, open to children from kindergarten through the eighth grade, is called the “Design Your Own Children’s Museum Contest.”

Museum officials said the facility is to be expanded in the near future from the present 3,500 square feet of space to a total of 12,000 square feet. They said children’s ideas were being sought to provide tips “as to what kinds of new exhibits we should have and ideas on the added gallery, office and storage spaces.”

Contestants will be divided into three categories: Kindergarten through second grade, third grade through fifth grade and sixth grade through eighth grade. Architects James Handsel and Paul Ruffing will judge the entries.
