Testaverde Hurt, May Not Play

MIAMI — University of Miami quarterback Vinny Testaverde was injured in a minor accident on his motor scooter and it is doubtful whether he will play in Thursday night’s game against East Carolina, team athletic trainer Kevin O’Neill said today.
The star of the nation’s No. 1 college football team suffered extensive scrapes over the left side of his body in the Tuesday night accident. The Hurricanes must beat East Carolina to ensure a Jan. 2 Fiesta Bowl showdown with No. 2 Penn State for the national championship.
