Ophthalmologist Thomas Miller Eby Dies at 65

Dr. Thomas Miller Eby, who practiced ophthalmology in Fullerton for 26 years, died Friday following a short illness. He was 65.

Eby was born in Berkeley and was graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1942.

He received his doctor of medicine degree in 1947 from Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia and his degree in ophthalmology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1951.

Following his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Eby spent two years in the Army. He opened a private practice in Beverly Hills in 1955 and moved to Fullerton in 1960.

Eby served as an associate clinical professor at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach and was on the staff at Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

He was also on the staff at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.

He is survived by his wife, Margot, daughters Lisa Virginia Eby of Seattle and Linda Eby-King of Vincennes, Ind., and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Fullerton.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to either the St. Jude Hospital Memorial Fund or the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
