A Tulare man was credited with saving two children from a burning car in which their mother was killed. Tony Rivera ran from his home near the accident scene and pulled 8-year-old Kenny Caygle of Riverdale and 3-year-old Brandy West of Porterville to safety, the California Highway Patrol reported. Two other people pulled a road marker out of the ground and smashed the windshield but were unable to save the Kenny’s mother, Sandra, 27. Officials had not determined whether the accident or the fire was the cause of her death. A CHP spokesman said Caygle’s car was struck from behind by another traveling at high speed on California 137 near Tulare.
