1 Dies, 9 Hurt by Steam at Coast Guard Station

KODIAK, Alaska —
A steam line ruptured Wednesday at the Kodiak Island Coast Guard station, killing one man and injuring nine others who came to his rescue, the Coast Guard reported.
William D. Everton, 41, the civilian operator of the Coast Guard’s fuel distribution system, died of asphyxiation.
