Would Bobby Layne Have Drunk to That?

If Bobby Layne died of complications of alcohol abuse--heart and liver failure, a hemorrhage from veins bursting in his esophagus, and coma--does Jim Murray really want to invent the man’s epitaph as saying: “Where can a guy get a drink around here?”

Could that smart quarterback and good ‘ol boy have died that ignorant or unconcerned in the end about what alcohol had done to him? Jim, you and his buddies should have dragged him out of those bars. Maybe that legend of a leader would still be alive.
