Wrong-Way Driver Seized
A suspected drunk driver who allegedly drove his family six miles the wrong way on the San Gabriel River Freeway was being held on $3,000 bail after being booked on suspicion of child endangerment, drunk driving and traveling on the wrong side of a highway.
Ramon Partida, 29, of Pomona was stopped by the California Highway Patrol near Ramona Boulevard, just north of the San Bernardino Freeway, and was reportedly found to have a blood-alcohol level of .20%--twice the legal limit.
“He was going about 5 m.p.h., clinging to the center divider, when we got him,” CHP Sgt. Tom Joy said.
