TAMPA, Fla. —
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired coach Leeman Bennett today after the Bucs’ 2-14 record earned them the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.
Owner Hugh Culverhouse said he will look for a new coach but did not set a specific timetable. Bennett, who replaced ex-USC coach John McKay after the 1984 NFL season, compiled a 4-28 record in two years at the helm of the Bucs.
