Two alleged prostitutes were sentenced in Municipal Court on Friday for robbing and killing a retired Marine sergeant and attempting to kill a Point Loma man.

Deborah Denise Jones, 22, of San Diego, was sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for her role as the triggerwoman in the two attacks.

Jones was sentenced to 25 years to life on one charge of first-degree murder for shooting John Sherman Green, 51, on Aug. 6, in the 100 block of Latimer Street. An additional sentence of three years was added for the charge of assault with a deadly weapon for the robbery and wounding of Andrew J. Wilson, 27, a sailor based on the aircraft carrier Ranger.

Municipal Court Judge Frederic L. Link said that Jones showed no remorse after the shootings and said he felt Jones was a danger to the community.

“Her callousness is such that is rarely seen in court,” Link said.

Link said that Jones was ineligible for probation because the gravity of her crimes were self-evident.

The co-defendant, Ulondra Singleton, 23, of San Diego, was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months in prison for a voluntary manslaughter charge in connection with the Green slaying, and two residential robbery charges involving Green and Wilson.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Stephen Anear, who prosecuted both woman, said that Singleton was the backup for Jones in both shootings.

Both women cried as their sentences were read by Link.
