BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS : Master’s Women Never Trail Occidental in Easy 55-48 Win

Michelle Carter had 18 points and seven assists while Shelmarie Tatum added 12 points and 15 rebounds as The Master’s College women’s basketball team scored a 55-48 nonconference victory over Occidental at home.
Master’s (5-9), which was never behind, led at halftime, 31-16. The Lady Mustangs increased their lead to 20 points early in the second half before Occidental could narrow the score.
Occidental (5-6), couldn’t stop Master’s inside game. The Lady Mustangs out-rebounded Occidental, 55-43.
WOMEN’S
Moorpark 58, Santa Barbara City 41--Karina Hardman (18 points) and Carol Kellick (16 points, 12 rebounds) led Moorpark to a Western State Conference win at home.
GIRLS
Louisville 60, Burroughs (Ridgecrest) 32--Louisville, behind the scoring of Andrea Knapp and Lynn Flanagan, overcame a 15-14 first-quarter deficit and outscored its opponent, 22-0, in the second quarter to win a nonleague game.
Knapp had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Flanagan had 15 points.
