3 UCI Women Lose in Tennis Invitational
Three UC Irvine players were defeated Monday in the second round of the Women’s Intercollegiate Invitational at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades.
Kathy Rose lost to Mary Beth Young of Brigham Young University, 6-4, 6-3. Stephanie Rhorer was beaten by Aby Brayton of the University of San Diego, 6-4, 7-5. Uma Rao fell to Laura Gonzalez of USD, 6-4, 6-3.
The tournament features 160 players from 32 colleges, including top-ranked Stanford, USC, UCLA and Trinity University. Finals begin today at 8:30 a.m.
