Cudahy : 15-Passenger Bus Ordered

Share

The Cudahy Area Rapid Transit system is expected to add a new 15-passenger bus to its fleet by next month. The city-owned, three-bus system has received approval from the City Council to purchase a $41,000 vehicle from National Coach Corp. of Gardena.

One of the older buses in the fleet will be replaced by the new bus, which National Coach is building and is expected to have ready by the end of February, said Maynard G. Law, assistant city manager.

The transit system, which has a fixed route as well as a dial-a-ride service, does not charge a fee. Funds for the system are provided through Proposition A, the half-cent county sales tax for transit projects that took effect in 1982.
