Julio J. Fuentes has been elected president of the Rio Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees. Bill E. Hernandez has been elected vice president.

Dr. Robert M. Acosta, assistant professor of family medicine at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, has been appointed to the National Advisory Council on Migrant Health. Acosta, the son of migrant workers, will study the health and occupational needs of migrant workers. He previously served on the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners and was named physician of the year by the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California in 1981.

Leslie Miles has been appointed director of admissions at Scripps College in Claremont. Miles previously served as associate director of admissions at Boston University. He received an undergraduate degree from Skidmore College in New York and a graduate degree from Boston University.

Linda Cochran of Claremont has been named children’s librarian at San Dimas Public Library. She previously served as children’s librarian at Clarion Free Library in Pennsylvania. Cochran received an undergraduate degree from Capital University in Ohio and a graduate degree from Clarion University in Pennsylvania.
