Fullerton Default Gives Win to San Francisco St.
Cal State Fullerton heavyweight Bob Button had to default because of an injury Thursday night, which helped San Francisco State defeat the Titans, 24-21, in a nonconference wrestling match at San Francisco.
The Titans had rallied from an early, 11-0 deficit to take a 21-18 lead going into the final match. But Button, who hurt his knee in practice Wednesday, did not make the trip. The default gave San Francisco State the decisive six points.
Jose Flores helped lead the Titans’ rally. Wrestling at 177 pounds, he pinned San Francisco State’s Rufus Wright at the 5:58 mark.
