Mecir, Doohan Meet in New South Wales Final
Top-seeded Miloslav Mecir of Czechoslovakia meets unseeded Peter Doohan of Australia today in the men’s singles final of the $105,000 New South Wales Open at Sydney, Australia.
Mecir advanced to the final by beating sixth-seeded Wally Masur of Australia in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Doohan beat fellow Aussie Brad Drewett in the semifinals, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
