University of San Diego High School 69, Clairemont 49--James Wilson scored 22 points and Matt Seidlinger added 17 to lead host USDHS (4-2, 7-10). Jason Deal, Clairemont’s leading scorer this season, left the game in the third period with a sprained ankle. Deal scored 11 points. Vic Baer paced Clairemont (3-3, 14-5) with 20 points, 16 in the second half.

Mission Bay 39, University City 33--Mission Bay was 17 for 22 from the line, including 10 for 12 in the final period at Mission Bay (2-4, 7-10). Mission Bay outscored University City, 14-7, in the fourth period. University City (2-4, 6-8) was 9 of 19 from the line.

CITY CENTRAL LEAGUE Hoover 63, Crawford 43--Hoover (4-2, 9-12) outscored Crawford 31-17 in the second half at Hoover. Stacy Domaille led Hoover with 15 points. James Henry led Crawford (2-4, 5-13) with 16 points.

St. Augustine 68, San Diego 48--San Diego led, 33-29, at the half, but Charlie Applegate’s 33 points ensured the win for the visiting Saints (2-4, 10-7). San Diego is 0-5 and 0-14.

Lincoln 89, Christian 59--Kenny Thompson scored 20 points and Ken Hawkins added 17 to lead Lincoln (6-0, 13-5) at home. Joe Temple and Frank Edmond added 16 points each for the Hornets. Christian is 4-2, 14-6.

CITY EASTERN LEAGUE Point Loma 51, Serra 43--Jimmy Griffin scored 13 points and Jeff Johnson added 11 to pace Point Loma (2-4, 9-12) at home. Serra is 0-6, 2-17.

Mira Mesa 76, Madison 73--David Lee scored 17 points and Scott Cummings added 15 to lead No. 7 Mira Mesa (4-2, 16-4) past No. 3 Madison (4-2, 13-6) at Mira Mesa. Robby Robinson scored 22 points and Marvin Prather had 15 for Madison.

GROSSMONT LEAGUE Valhalla 58, El Capitan 52--Host El Capitan (4-7, 8-9) led, 33-27, at the half, but could not penetrate Valhalla’s full-court press in the fourth period. Valhalla (9-3, 13-5) outscored the Vaqueros, 13-7, in the fourth period. Troy Toolson led all scorers with 20 points and Rob Tubman added 12 for Valhalla.

Grossmont 69, Granite Hills 47--Grossmont was 12 of 13 from the line in the fourth period to seal the victory at Grossmont. Jason Foggiano paced Grossmont (4-7, 7-11) with 13 points. John Tenney scored 13 points and Quentin Hollis added 10 for Granite Hills (6-6, 7-11).

El Cajon 52, Santana 47--A 16-13 halftime lead was short-lived for host Santana. Wally Yeakle paced El Cajon (5-6, 9-8) with 17 points. Santana (5-7, 9-10) was led by Tim Barry’s 19 points.

Mount Miguel 52, Helix 43--Anthony Rivera and Mike Flores scored 18 apiece to pace Mount Miguel (9-3, 11-7) at Helix. Tim Zeddies had 13 for Helix (2-10, 5-13).

GIRLS CITY EASTERN LEAGUE Point Loma 74, Serra 8--The game at Serra was called with 6 1/2 minutes to play after Serra’s Vivian Rogers suffered a concussion while leaping for a rebound. In a swarm for the rebound, Rogers was struck in the nose by another player. Rogers was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital where she was examined and released. Terri Mann scored 33 points to pace Point Loma (24-0).

GROSSMONT LEAGUE Santana 57, El Cajon 35--Leslie Ellis, a six-foot junior forward, paced Santana (11-1, 15-4) with 29 points and 10 rebounds at Santana. Santana’s full-court press forced 34 turnovers. El Cajon is 3-8, 6-11.
