Rosemead : Moratorium on Motels
The City Council has unanimously approved a moratorium on the issuance of building permits for motels after a report that shows that the city is processing applications for eight new motels with 315 rooms. Twelve 12 motels already operate in the city.
The council expressed concern about the number of units being built. The Planning Commission will study the issue and recommend possible development standards in order to regulate the industry.
