Mayotte Advances to Quarterfinals in U.S. Indoor Play

PHILADELPHIA —
Fifth-seeded Tim Mayotte advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Pro Indoor Tennis Championships Thursday with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ben Testerman, but sixth-seeded Emilio Sanchez and seventh-seeded Tim Wilkison were upset victims.
Sanchez lost to 11th-seeded Jakob Hlasek, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, and Wilkison was defeated by Milan Srejeber, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. In another third-round match, 10th-seeded Karel Novacek ousted eighth-seeded Eric Jelen, 2-6, 7-6, 6-4.
