Two men were being sought Friday as suspects in the fatal shooting of a man in a Sherman Oaks park, police said.

The 33-year-old victim, whose identity was being withheld pending notification of his family, was discovered by passers-by at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot at the Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Park and Recreation Center, said Detective Pat Anguiano of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man had been shot once in the lower body, Anguiano said.

According to reports from several witnesses and a friend of the victim, two men fled the scene, Anguiano said. The friend was detained, then released by police. Anguiano said the shooting was probably drug-related.
