Clippers Deny a Report That Shue Will Succeed Don Chaney as Coach

SEATTLE — Is ex-Philadelphia 76er Coach Gene Shue going to be the next coach of the Clippers?
The Tacoma News and Tribune reported Sunday that Shue will replace Don Chaney as coach of the Clippers at the end of the season.
Shue, who coached the 76ers from 1973-78, is now a TV commentator.
However, a Clipper official denied the report.
“There’s no truth to it,” said Clipper President Alan Rothenberg when reached by phone at his office in West Los Angeles. “Don is still our coach.”
