Baxter Travenol Laboratories Inc. of Deerfield, Ill., reported a big jump in profit for 1986, compared to a year earlier. Results reflect the acquisition of American Hospital Supply Corp. on Nov. 25, 1985. For 1985, results have been restated for the sale of the company’s Flint and American Critical Care units that have been accounted for as discontinued operations. Contributing to the firm’s progress was its streamlining operations and the implementation of a number of cost-management programs, a spokesman said.
