Beijing Underground

How pleased I was to read Marguerite Oliver’s article Feb. 8, “Exploring Beijing’s Underground Tunnel Maze.” In November, 1984 we enjoyed that same experience, but since then have never heard of anyone else making that tour. Thanks for the article, but it got me to wondering--did Ms. Oliver miss the marvelous gift shop that was operated in that underground? We found the shop full of very high quality merchandise; some of our best buys of choice pieces were purchased there. Incredible.
