Don Johnson’s white sports jacket may be cool, but the hottest item of clothing at a celebrity auction in Tarryton, N.Y., Saturday night was Don Mattingly’s No. 23 New York Yankees jersey. The shirt donated by the All-Star first baseman brought in the highest bid for any article of celebrity clothing--$1,800. Johnson’s autographed jacket from the “Miami Vice” television show went for $375. Autographed sunglasses from Bruce Willis, star of “Moonlighting,” were snapped up for $400, and a baseball jacket with the show’s logo from co-star Cybill Shepherd sold for $700. Size 10 1/2 sneakers from television talk-show host David Letterman attracted a $500 bid. The auction raised $40,000 for the Special Olympics.
