The Lazers will try for their second consecutive victory and their second win ever against the Cleveland Force in a Major Indoor Soccer League game tonight at 7:30 at the Forum.
The Force (20-9), tied for the Eastern Division lead with the Baltimore Blast, has a 14-1 record against the Lazers (7-21), who are in last place in the West.
Forward Don Ebert, who was acquired from the St. Louis Steamers along with Steve Pecher in a trade last week, scored a club-record four goals and an assist Sunday night as the Lazers beat the Tacoma Stars, 7-5, breaking an 11-game losing streak.
The Lazers also have bought All-Stars Michael Collins and Chris Whyte from the New York Express, which is in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings, and traded Yugoslav midfielder Darko Birjukov to Wichita for its third-round draft pick.
Collins and Whyte could join the Lazers as early as Tuesday, the day of the bankruptcy hearing.
