Singer-composer Richard Carpenter, 41, plans soon to release his first solo album, “Time,” and may make his first national tour since the death of his sister Karen four years ago, a spokesman said Thursday. The album will be released in May, said Bob Garcia, artist relations representative for A&M; records. “It is all original material. He has some guests, including Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield and Herb Alpert, and it is produced, arranged and played by Richard. He does all of the male vocals,” Garcia said. He added that a tour may follow the album, quoting Carpenter as saying: “I really want to tour, but I really want to see how everything goes” with the album first. “Obviously, it is his first album--period--since the death of his sister,” Garcia said.
