Two men and two boys were being held on suspicion of murder in the fatal stabbing over the weekend of a 37-year-old transient and the wounding of another man in Pacoima, Los Angeles police said Monday.

The dead man’s name was not disclosed pending notification of relatives.

The other victim, George Landeros, 32, also a transient, was treated for stab wounds at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, Lt. Bob Stemples said.

Robbery appeared to have been the motive for the stabbings, which occurred about 8 p.m. Saturday in an alley behind a busy commercial area in the 10400 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Stemples said.

Salvador Rendon, 20, of Pacoima, and his brother, Miguel Rendon, 19, of San Fernando, were arrested several hours after the stabbings, along with the two boys, aged 16 and 13, Stemples said.

He said the four approached the 37-year-old man and Landeros in the alley, and the stabbings occurred “during the robbery attempt.”

The boys were being held in Sylmar Juvenile Hall without bail pending an arraignment in Sylmar Juvenile Court, and the Rendon brothers were being held without bail in the police Foothill Division jail pending an arraignment in San Fernando Municipal Court, Stemples said.
