Share

The City Council has approved a four-year transit plan for Culver City bus service. The plan recommends extending three bus routes and purchasing a two-way radio system and 20 electronic destination signs.

A public hearing on the route changes will be held in City Hall on June 3.

Recommended route changes are on Line 2, which would go from Sunkist Park to Corporate Pointe and the Fox Hills area. An extra round trip would be added to Line 6 on Sepulveda Boulevard. Line 4 on Jefferson Boulevard would go to the West Los Angeles Transit Center at Washington Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

The proposed route changes would go into effect in September.

The council also approved a $3.4-million operating budget for the bus system, which includes $1.4 million in federal and state grants and $983,000 in projected revenue from bus fares and ticket sales. Culver City operates 28 buses serving six routes throughout the city.
