Culver City Planning Official Charged in Daughter’s Injury

A member of the Culver City Planning Commission was charged with felony child endangerment after police said his 15-year-old daughter told a high school nurse that the official threw a telephone and broke her nose during a family quarrel.

Pat Alexander Dolce, who has served on the commission since 1981, was arrested on Jan. 21 and freed on bail pending an arraignment scheduled for March 31.

His daughter, Heidi, has been living in a foster home at her request, according to police.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Carol Fisch filed the charge after investigating a report from Sandra Segal, the school nurse at Culver City High School, where Heidi Dolce is a student.

According to a report by Culver City police, Heidi Dolce went to see Segal on Jan. 21 complaining of a pain in her nose. Segal told police that the girl said her father had struck her with a telephone on Jan. 17.

Segal said she sent Heidi to Brotman Hospital in Culver City, according to the report.

Pat Dolce told police that the incident did occur, but that he did not intentionally throw the telephone at his daughter, the report stated. He said that he was angry over a phone prank that he said occurred before the incident and “just threw it (the phone),” the report stated.
