Jockeys E.T. Baird and Declan Murphy were injured in a spill during the sixth race at New York’s Aqueduct race track.
Baird broke his right collarbone and suffered possible injuries to his ribs and lower back, a track official said.
Murphy injured his left thumb.
The accident occurred when Baird’s horse, Silver Ornament, fell nearing the stretch. Murphy’s mount, Tuff Spot, then tripped over the fallen horse.
Neither horse was injured, but the jockeys were taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital.
