Community College Roundup : Ruscitto’s Shot Leads Fullerton, 5-3

Andy Ruscitto hit a three-run home run with two out in the eighth inning, leading Fullerton College to a 5-3 South Coast Conference victory over Mt. San Antonio College Tuesday at Fullerton.

Ruscitto’s homer was his second straight game-winner. He hit a home run in the ninth inning Thursday to lead Fullerton (8-2, 12-5-2) over Cerritos.

David Wackerman (2-0) relieved starter Craig Oden in the eighth, shutting down Mt. SAC (6-4, 13-4).

In other South Coast Conference games:

Cerritos 7, Golden West 5--Cerritos used a four-run third inning to defeat the Rustlers (5-5, 9-7) at Golden West.

In Orange Empire Conference games:

Orange Coast 8, Citrus 3--Scott Stoerck pitched a complete-game six-hitter and Rex Peters, Ralph Ramirez and Mike Misuraca each had two hits for the Pirates (2-1, 15-5) at Citrus.

Rancho Santiago 12, Saddleback 6--Rancho Santiago scored six runs in the first inning en route to the victory at home. Brent Reese hit his seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, for the Dons (3-0, 13-3).

Saddleback is 1-2, 7-8.

Riverside 4, Cypress 2--Cypress, which had only one hit in the first eight innings, loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but managed only two runs.

Riverside reliever Daryl Hogan got Mike Parker to hit into a double play, but Cypress (1-2, 15-8), scored on a wild pitch and a passed ball before Mark Steinert popped to first, ending the game.

Adrian Williams, who pitched a one-hitter over seven innings, earned the victory for Riverside (1-2, 7-7).
