Air traffic controllers cleared approach routes to San Francisco International Airport and United Airlines Flight 127 landed 39 minutes ahead of schedule when the flight crew learned a passenger was about to give birth . . . but it turned out to be false labor. A doctor aboard the DC-10 stayed with passenger Linda Madden, 31, until the jetliner landed and airport paramedics were standing by to meet the flight and rush her to Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. But tests performed there disclosed that she was not really in labor yet.
