The 59th annual presentation of Oscars by the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences airs live Monday from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, beginning at 6 p.m. on ABC (Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42). Coverage of celebrity arrivals will begin at 5 p.m. on Channel 7 only.

The academy estimates that 1 billion people worldwide will watch the program, while ABC says 60 million in the United States will view the event.
