South Laguna : Motorist Crushed by Traffic Signal Pole
A 31-year-old man was killed early Sunday when his car struck two traffic signal poles on Coast Highway, one of which fell and crushed the automobile, pinning the driver inside, authorities said.
Mohammed Saeed Shoaee of Laguna Hills was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 1:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shoaee, who was alone at the time of the accident, was traveling south on Coast Highway near Luna Bonita Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car, collided with a traffic signal and then careened into a second traffic pole, which toppled onto his car, the CHP said.
