Pet Shop Sales of Bunnies, Chicks

Share

Now that the Easter season is here, pet shops all over, particularly those in shopping malls, are featuring bunnies and baby chicks.

After the season is over, the children for whom these delicate creatures were bought will have tired of them and eventually these bunnies and baby chicks will die of neglect.

Many of them will just be tossed into trash cans or disposed of in some other inhumane manner. This is downright cruelty.

Many of the better pet shop owners will have no part in the sale of these tiny animals. They know about the subsequent failure of the proper care that these pets will receive from the people who buy them just for Easter.

They are aware that these so-called pets are doomed to die, and they care about this. Therefore, they do not sell them.

It is sad to know that some greedy pet shop owners will exploit these innocent creatures just for the sake of a few extra bucks.

Beware of buying baby chicks and/or bunnies for Easter.

I hope that someday in the not too far distant future, the sale of these or any other pets just for Easter will be banned.
