Kidnaped Boy, 3, Found

A 3-year-old boy who was kidnaped from the front yard of a relative’s home was found this morning wandering near the Ventura Freeway in Ventura County, Los Angeles police said. A 26-year-old man who recently had served time for sexual molestation is being sought in connection with the boy’s abduction, said Detective George Azpeitia.

Detectives said the child was playing with his cousins in front of their home on West First Street near Vermont Avenue Wednesday night when a man snatched him and carried him screaming into a nearby car. Alerted by the boy’s cries, another man chased the fleeing car and was able to jot down its license number. Azpeitia said the car was registered to Kenneth K. Rasmuson, a sex offender who recently was paroled.
