Son, 29, Jailed in Slaying of Father, 69
The son of a slain 69-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the shooting, police said. David Arpia, 29, is being held in County Jail without bail.
Deputy Coroner Charles Kelley said the body of Eugene Arpia, was found at 8:45 p.m. Sunday in the den of his Ocean Beach home in the 4300 block of Santa Monica Avenue. The father had been shot in the head.
Neighbors said that Christopher Arpia, a younger son, ran to them for help when David and Eugene began fighting. Neighbors said they heard two gunshots, then called police.
