A Nevada Las Vegas football player was shot to death during a drug deal Sunday night in Fresno, police said.
Andre Dwayne Horn, 21, was shot during a dispute, then staggered two blocks to where his assailants caught up with him and shot him again, police said.
Evidence found at the scene and provided by police in Hanford, Calif., “indicated it was a drug-related homicide,” detective Tom Sanchez said.
No arrests were reported.
Horn was a linebacker for UNLV in 1985 after playing at Hanford High School. He sat out last season, but had been expected to play for the Rebels again next fall.
