Share

A private helicopter crash-landed Tuesday in the parking area of a La Habra condominium complex after developing mechanical or electrical problems, police said. Two men who were aboard the Bell 47 aircraft walked away from the crash unhurt.

The pilot, Dave Hepburn, tried to land the helicopter shortly before 2 p.m. near the busy intersection of Imperial Highway and Euclid Street, La Habra officers said, and it came down between a row of covered parking stalls and a brick wall.

No one was on the ground when the helicopter landed, and the aircraft, although damaged, can be repaired, according to police. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
