The U.S. Soccer Federation reaffirmed its bid to host the 1984 World Cup, telling members and FIFA, the world governing body for soccer, again of its intentions and progress.

America is considered to have a fair chance to get the approval. The decision will be announced June 30, 1988, at Zurich, Switzerland.

The only other candidates to have maintained their applications are Chile, where fears have been expressed over political instability; Brazil, which is paying off a huge national debt, and of Morocco.
