Garden Grove : 5 Men Wounded When Shooting Erupts at Bar

Five men were wounded when gunfire erupted early Saturday in a fight outside Mr. Berry’s, a bar in the 12600 block of Westminster Avenue, police said.

Police are seeking the gunmen, who fled in a light blue Chevrolet and a white pickup truck, on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police responded at 1:52 a.m. to a fight involving many people in the bar’s parking lot, Police Lt. Ken Adair said.

Among the injured was Alex Gomez, , who underwent surgery at UCI Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the lower back. He was listed in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Domingo Dominguez, 23, Santa Ana, suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and Francisco Canales, 22, Santa Ana, was shot in the upper arm, police said. Both men were treated at UCI Medical Center and later released, according to police and hospital spokesmen.

Anthony Lebron, 22, Santa Ana, was shot in the upper left leg, and underwent surgery at Doctors Hospital of Santa Ana and was reported in stable condition, police and hospital spokesmen said. Jose Gutierrez, 25, Santa Ana, was shot in the upper right arm, and was treated and released at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.

Police said someone had thrown a bottle at one of the suspects and then the shooting began.
