Byars Breaks Bone in Foot During Eagles’ Minicamp
Running back Keith Byars of the Philadelphia Eagles, who missed most of his senior season at Ohio State because of a broken bone in his right foot, Saturday broke the same bone in his left foot during a workout at the Eagles’ minicamp.
Byars, the Eagles’ first-round draft choice last year, was examined by team physician Dr. Vincent DiStefano. No prognosis was immediately available, but trainer Otho Davis said surgery is likely.
A team spokesman said Byars was injured while running in a pass drill on the artificial turf at Veterans Stadium.
Byars ran for a team-leading 577 yards last season.
