A Rosemead man who tried to re-register a slain woman’s car has been arrested on suspicion of murder, Burbank police said Tuesday.

Chong Kun So, 29, was arrested Monday afternoon when he tried to obtain a duplicate ownership certificate for a car driven by his estranged wife, Yon Chong So, 29, of Burbank, Sgt. Bob Brode said.

The woman was found fatally shot Monday morning in the carport of her Kling Street apartment. A statewide alert for the dead woman’s car was issued after a witness told police he saw a man drive away in it, Burbank Police Lt. Duane Dow said.
